The Sounds of Silence (Save Salla Senter)

How does Salla sound? What is Salla’s winter soundscape like and where does it come from? Answers to these questions were sought through art this winter, when media artist Timo Metsäjoki recorded the sound waves of Salla’s winter together with local residents.

The soundscapes and interviews recorded now will remain in the history books as intangible cultural capital. Sit down on a bench to rest and surrender to the sounds.

The combination of soundscape and documentary will be on display at Save Salla Senter 12.4.-31.5. Mon-Fri 10-17.
